Retief Goosen took his place among golf's elite with a stunning victory at Shinnecock Hills in 2004 when he captured his second US Open Championship title. The softly spoken Goosen cut his teeth on the European Tour before heading across to the PGA Tour after becoming the first ever non-European to win the order of merit two years in a row.
Goosen is slowly getting the respect his game deserves. Reporters constantly question him about his place amongst the "Big Four" (Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els), Goosen replies five into four doesn't go.
While it took two US Open wins for people on the PGA Tour to take notice of his talents, those on the European Tour were awake to his ability in 1999 when he shot a 29 on the front nine to beat Sergio Garcia in the first round of the Cisco World Match Play at the Wentworth Club.

Adam Scott is regarded as the most exciting young Australian golfer since Greg Norman. At the age of 23 years, eight months and 12 days, he became the youngest winner of The Players Championship on the US PGA Tour, an event considered by many to be the game's fifth Major.
