Following a very successful amateur career Padraig Harrington is another to make the transition from successful golf pro on the European Tour to one of the stars of the highly lucrative US PGA Tour. In his first year as a professional, Harrington made the cut at each of his first nine European Tour events.
He posted five top-10 finishes and a first professional win came at the Spanish Open leading throughout. Harrington finished 11th in the Order of Merit for the year and secured a place in both the Irish Dunhill Cup and World Cup teams.
This year Padraig became the first Irishman to win a US PGA Tour event when he shot a course record equalling score of 63 to earn a three way play off at the Honda Classic before beating then World Number 2 Vijay Singh on the second playoff hole.
The Irishman had set the course alight with 10 birdies in the first 13 holes including six in a row. He said he had no thoughts about winning the tournament, only of scoring 59.

Adam Scott

Adam Scott is regarded as the most exciting young Australian golfer since Greg Norman. At the age of 23 years, eight months and 12 days, he became the youngest winner of The Players Championship on the US PGA Tour, an event considered by many to be the game's fifth Major.

Scott is a four-time winner on the US PGA Tour. His initial breakthrough came at the 2003 Deutsche Bank Championship after a second round 62 set up a four stroke win and saw Adam break into the top 20 in the World Rankings for the first time.
